Abstract
A virtual assistant (also called a virtual assistant) is an application program that can understand natural language and complete (electronic) tasks for the end user. Voice-activated digital assistants are becoming a bigger part of our lives. Talking to an Artificial Intelligence agent is expected to become an important and useful way humans interact with our computers. Companies in Information Technologies industry have taken serous steps to develop and introduce products enhanced by virtual or digital assistants. In this paper we attempt to conduct a preliminary study on virtual or digital assistants and propose a framework for the development of virtual or digital assistants. A preliminary list of recommendations is also included.
